Interpersonal communication is not dead or dying, it’s simply evolving and expanding.
The image I see is a transposition of tech and human…. The reason we, humans, develop communication technology is so that we can be social and exchange information without being in the same room. The technology, effectively, gives us a “room” to communicate. So my text conversation is no less valuable than the same conversation had face to face, it’s just a different method to do the same thing.
We’re effectively creating an abstract “space” that we communicate in with one other or a group of other people. It acts the same as a physical space and (more and more every moment) allows us all the same interaction we can have face to face. It is not a replacement for face to face interaction, but an expansion of our need, as humans, to communicate.
